Under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, federal agencies must transition high-value assets and high-impact systems to post-quantum cryptography by 2031. The directive sets deadlines of Dec. 31, 2030, for key establishment and Dec. 31, 2031, for digital signatures. It also requires agencies to appoint migration leads, update procurement rules, and coordinate with critical infrastructure sectors to address quantum-related security risks.

The Tax Clarity for Mining and Staking Act would let miners and stakers opt to defer taxes on validation rewards until the tokens are sold. The proposal would keep the current approach as the default while offering an alternative election to delay income recognition. It also seeks to clarify tax rules for investment trusts involved in digital asset staking.

South Korea’s Toss Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Solana Foundation to test blockchain-based remittance and settlement infrastructure. The Journal found the clips were filmed on look-alike dummy websites rather than Polymarket’s live platform. Across 1,105 videos, the depicted wagers totaled roughly $1.9M, and the wins shown would have been real losses on the live market.
